Bosom Buddies also runs information sessions where women can receive information about the support services and activities that are available across the ACT and region. These sessions are announced via member email and noted on the Bosom Buddies website.
Information sessions are informal occasions held in the Bosom Buddies office location in Pearce. They include presentations by a variety of experts in their field. The topics and demonstrations vary from providing information on exercise, dental care and nutrition to fertility, genetics and reconstruction.
The sessions also provide an opportunity meet others with similar experiences and form friendships. Bosom Buddies conducts these sessions periodically throughout the year.

Networking and Social Activities
When the intensive round of treatments end and the frequent attention of doctors and nurses cease, we can feel very alone, and not sure what to do. Friends and Family expect to get back to normal but you don’t quite feel the same.
Bosom Buddies understands and so it holds activities and social events to help provide a network of friends that understand these feelings. As well we provide opportunities for fun and laughter and imparts a sense of ‘you’re not alone’ – important to healing process.
Throughout the year Bosom Buddies holds regular monthly social morning teas and/or the after work drinks held every month. These get-togethers provide the perfect environment to meet other members, build networks and catch up with old friends! There is no need to book – just turn up!
- Morning Tea gatherings are at the Deeks, Pearce every 2nd Monday of the month (on Monday public holidays – it is held on Tuesdays). The Deeks Coffee Shop is at Pearce Shopping Centre, Hodgson Crescent, Pearce ACT.
- Evening after work get-togethers are at Tilley’s Devine Cafe Gallery from 5.30pm every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Tilley’s is at 1/94 Wattle Street, Lyneham.

Many who feel they would like to be a little more actively involved, volunteer to participate in giving out information at our stalls or help in our fundraising events.
It is through all these activities that many of our members build supportive networks that help them in going forward.
